Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a name or a date of birth is typed into a search box on this site, that input passes straight to the outside provider that runs the search. The provider processes the query and returns the results. We do not keep a log of what was typed on our side.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us is kept so that we can answer it. It stays with our team, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads, the server records routine technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to the device
- The browser in use and its version
- The device type and operating system
- Which pages were viewed and how long each stayed open
- The referring site, when there is one
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files stored on a device that show how visitors move through the site, including which pages draw the most traffic. Analytics services help aggregate that information. A browser can be set to block cookies at any time, and some parts of the site may behave differently when it does.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site online, stable, and quick to load
- Routing a search request to the correct partner service
- Working out which pages help readers and which need revision
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell databases of warrants or personal warrant records. It publishes general guidance about where Pine County warrant records are kept and how to check them through the district court, the sheriff's records unit, and the state case system.
Nothing collected about visitors is assembled into a consumer report or into a file about any third party. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Records held by the county and the court are governed by the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. chapter 13, not by this policy.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this site are operated by outside companies. Anything typed into one is handled under that company's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners set their own retention and sharing rules, and we do not control them. Read the partner policy before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to court pages, sheriff's office pages, state statutes, legal aid resources, and third-party search tools. Following any of those links leaves this site, and the privacy policy of the destination then applies. Read it before sharing personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across sites to deliver targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information can reach:
- Search partners that handle a query run from this site
- Analytics services used to measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on these pages
- Law enforcement or government agencies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
We follow standard security practices for the information we collect. Nothing connected to the internet is unbreakable, so we do what we can and cannot promise that a breach will never happen.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Minnesota law and this policy give a visitor the following options:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
For records held by a government office rather than by this site, the relevant rule is the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act. Under Minn. Stat. §13.03, public data can be inspected at no charge and copy costs are limited to actual cost, and under Minn. Stat. §13.82 an arrest-warrant index stays confidential until the person is in custody, served, or appears in court. Requests for those records go to the office that holds them, which is Pine County or the district court.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site changes. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date. Check back to see how visitor information is handled.
Effective date: September 15, 2026.
